The Young Diplomats Program (外交小尖兵─英語種籽隊選拔活動) was recently introduced at a news conference hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges all Taiwanese high school students to take part. Registration is open through September 30. Six ex-young diplomats were also invited to share their thoughts the day of the press conference.

This year marks the start of the Young Diplomats Program's (外交小尖兵─英語種籽隊選拔活動) 20th year. For the world to witness Taiwan's young generation's concern, understanding, and inventiveness for the new post-pandemic world, the Foreign Minister Joseph Wu (吳釗燮) expressed the hope that the participating students might continue to use their creativity, teamwork, and English expression abilities to let the world see Taiwan.

According to the MOFA, this year's selection event will consist of two phases: preliminary and finals. Early in November, Taiwan's northern, central, and southern districts will host the preliminary competition. Group performances (drama performance, English drama) are the competition's entries. Early in December, there are group English finals that consist of spontaneous presentations and tests. The top 8 teams from the preliminary round of each district will move on to the championship round. The MOFA will make arrangements for the top 3 winning teams to travel abroad and interact with young people there. Please visit the official website for more information.
