“Go Shopping in Taichung Commercial District” invites new immigrants to visit tourist attractions!

Taichung Donghai Art Street Cultural and Creative Association (東海藝術街文創協會) recently organized “Go Shopping in Taichung Commercial District”, inviting foreign students and new immigrants to participate in cultural immersion activities.

Strolling in the old city, Taichung ASEAN Square, Taiwan Prefecture Confucian Examination Hall, Taichung Overpass 1908, and Taizhong Di Si Market, etc. In recent years, Taichung City Government has newly renovated or completed the tourist attractions. It is hoped that through foreigners sharing photos & information on social media platforms, the tourist attractions of Taichung City will be further promoted.

This two-day tour consists of foreign nationals and new immigrants, and it is mostly their first time visiting the attractions. Through sharing and exchanging among the participants, they can have a better understanding of the cultural differences.

This year, Taichung City’s first "Taiwan Tourist Shuttle (台灣好行)" sightseeing bus connecting 38 attractions was launched, and individuals can experience the charm of urban, nostalgia and fashion.

Han Yu Qi (韓育琪), the Commissioner of the Tourism Bureau Taichung City Government, stated that new immigrants are welcome to participate in the activity. It is hoped that the participants from various countries would be able to see the most beautiful sceneries in Taichung, discover great local stories, share their experiences with the world, become the best spokesperson for Taichung and promote Taichung's tourism globally.
