In a dimly lit, round dining room, diners at Krasota, a fine-dining restaurant in Dubai, experience something extraordinary: a multisensory dining journey where artificial intelligence (AI) plays a central role. One of the courses features a digital recreation of late French chef Paul Bocuse, who appears via projection on curved walls, introducing a dish of quail and foie gras wrapped in mushroom pâté and pastry, topped with truffle sauce—entirely designed by AI.The second scenario imagines humans in harmony with the natural world, featuring plant-based tacos and all-natural soda.  Krasota’s “Imaginary Futures” is an eight-course experience exploring different future scenarios, from underwater cities to space colonies, with each dish reflecting its theme. Co-founders Anton Nenashev, chef Vladimir Mukhin, and Boris Zarkov used AI to create projections, designs, and even reinterpret Bocuse’s iconic recipes. The round room’s 360-degree immersive environment, equipped with over 20 projectors, creates a seamless 3D video experience that transports diners into a digital-age world where dining and technology merge.

While technology enhances the experience, Krasota’s team carefully balances screen engagement with the food to avoid overwhelming the senses. As Zarkov explains, the goal remains fundamentally social, aiming to evoke emotions and create memorable moments without disrupting the communal nature of dining. The restaurant’s next show, inspired by “Alice in Wonderland,” will further push the boundaries of AI in dining, embracing the evolving role of technology in the culinary world.
