The Vietnamese government announced that beginning on August 15th, nationals of all nations and regions would be able to apply directly for electronic visas. People may not only save a ton of time applying for visas, but also a ton of money if they plan on visiting Vietnam in the future.

As of 2023/8/15, you can apply for an e-visa with a validity term of up to 90 days and enter Vietnam more than once. The following is the procedure for requesting an e-visa:
1. Go to the government of Vietnam's e-visa website and click the button labeled "Submit application" in the upper right corner.
2. Upload the official ID photo and the passport's personal page, then complete the English-language form with your personal information.
3. After completing the form, you will be given a set of registration codes (please remember to write them down).
4. Use a credit card to pay $25 online and wait three days.
5. Return to the e-visa website to see if the application result has been received or check your email.
6. If your application is approved, print the confirmation page and bring it with you when you enter Vietnam.
According to MOFA, Taiwanese nationals will no longer require an entrance permit to visit Vietnam as of August 15; instead, they will just need to apply for an electronic visa, which will only take three working days to process and cost $25 USD.
