National Immigration Agency (Tainan City First and Second Service Center) recently organized “The Meeting of Social Care in Tainan of 2022” jointly with Specialized Operation Corps. To provide new immigrants with better services, the meeting includes information on daily laws and regulations, anti-bribery propaganda, the newly launched "Stalking and Harassment Prevention Act," and new regulations on electric bicycle management, etc.

The Women and Children Team of the Tainan City Police Department and the Tainan Station of Motor Vehicles Office were also specially invited to the meeting to discuss the measures related to e-bikes of updated "Road Traffic Management Punishment Regulations" and "Stalking and Harassment Prevention Act". Representatives from numerous NGO organizations used the meeting as an opportunity to learn more about the new law and ask questions in order to give the new immigrants the most up-to-date and accurate information.

In addition, Li Shu-Hui, a lecturer from the Tainan Station of Motor Vehicles Office, discussed the most recent "Road Traffic Management Punishment Regulations" on e-bikes, explaining that in the future, e-bikes will need to be qualified and listed before they can be used on the road. Without a qualifying mark, riding an e-bike will result in confiscation. Additionally, unauthorized modified e-bikes will be subject to a NT$5,400 punishment. Li hopes that all agencies will step up their efforts to promote relevant regulations so as to avoid fining new immigrants and migrant workers in Taiwan who do not know the rules and laws.
