Miaoli County Government hosted “2021 Slow Fish Sightseeing Season” (2021慢魚觀光季) with a series of activities. To build a Baishatun Gongtian Temple (白沙屯拱天宮) Religious Cultural Park in Tongxiao Township (通霄鎮), the county government and the Taiwan Railways Administration set up Mazu (媽祖) installation art at the Baishatun Railway Station which is frequently visited by the congregation. Hsu Yao-chang (徐耀昌), the Miaoli County mayor, hosted the opening ceremony. Together with teachers and students of Miaoli County Sinpu Elementary School (新埔國小), they released 10,000 fry of black sea bream into the sea, symbolizing the county government's efforts in maintaining the marine fisheries ecology.

International Culture and Tourism Bureau, Miaoli County stated that Gongtian Temple in the Baishatun area is dedicated to Mazu, and it is popular among the congregation. Elements of Mazu beliefs are included in the station design and
the facade of the station uses a large nine-bead curtain which represents Mazu.
The cute version of Mazu statue, states of Qian Li Yan (千里眼) & Shun Feng Er (順風耳) donned hats of Taiwan Railways, and the sky bridge with the unique "brave" Chinese character of Gongtian Temple to create a spot with local folk custom.

Next year, Miaoli County Government will continue to promote the “Slow Fish Coastal Tourism with Recreation Service Optimization Plan” to further optimize and upgrade the surrounding environment of Gongtian Temple.
