Performed by 13 students, the Chiayi City Government and Our Theatre (阮劇團) jointly organized the "2021 New Residents and Second Generation Empowerment & Multicultural Promotion Project". The stage play "Building Dreams" (築夢趣) was shown in multiple languages that enabled everyone to have a deeper understanding of multiculturalism in Taiwan. Huang Min-hui, the Mayor of Chiayi City, expressed her gratitude to Our Theatre in person.

Our Theatre helps new immigrants show confidence and charm through stage plays and promotes understanding and appreciation of the cultures from various countries. In 2020, the theme of the play is “Tracing the source” which explores the hidden cultural context whereas, in 2021, the theme is “Embark on a journey to dreams”, which opens up the imagination of a better life.
This performance integrates singing & dancing, Taiwanese opera, self-playing and self-singing, multi-language and other elements, presenting a 40-minute grand show to the audience.

The Social Affairs Department of the Chiayi City Government stated that this project is entering its second year. Besides organizing a series of talks on exotic cultures and opening workshops for the public, the most important empowerment program looks for new residents and their children from Vietnam, Indonesia, China, the Philippines, and Nepal to share wonderful life stories and dreams together.
