A town in Northern India recorded a temperature of more than 50 degrees Celsius on June 3 which occured twice in these three days. This heat wave has led to the death of a local farmer.
Agence France-Presse reported that the city of Churu, Rajasthan, North India, measured a temperature of 50.3 degrees Celsius on the same day, making local residents hide in shadows when going outdoor. Since June 1st, the town has been struck by a heat wave of 50.6 degrees Celsius, breaking the high temperature record of 51 degrees Celsius measured by the same state of Palodi in India in 2016.
Towns in Northern India are hit by an extreme heatwave with the temperature of 47°C. According to Indai Metorological Agency, the heatwave has affected Rajasthan directly since Tuesday and also had an impact on the neighboring Madhya Pradesh state. The local media said that a farmer in Rajasthan died on Sunday June 2nd due to heat stroke. Usually the rainy season comes after a bumper harvest, yet rain is forecasted to occur late in Inda after the 6th this month.
According to the WMO El Dorado Weather, 15 locations around the world were detected to be hit by high temperatures on Monday (3rd), 11 of which were in India and 4 in Pakistan.
