Due to statements like "Acidic bodies are easily bitten by mosquitoes" and "A body too acidic can easily get cancer", many people will adjust their body by the alkaline contained in the lemon. In fact, the so-called "acid-basic physique" has no scientific basis. Robert O. Young, who invented this theory, was even fined by the San Diego Court of the United States on the grounds of fraud.
According to the National Health Administration, the blood pH of normal people is maintained within a weak alkaline range (pH 7.35- 7.45) and is regulated by many physiological mechanisms such as respiration, renal excretion and leveling the protein in blood. The pH value is constant and will not change because of drinking lemonade or taking acidic or alkaline foods. Therefore, it is incorrect to say that we can drink lemonade to adjust our constitution!
However, lemon and lemon peel are rich in vitamin C, flavonoids and other nutrients. It is indeed a healthy food, but we must talk clearly: Lemonade can not change our constitution. Drink it moderately!
