To demonstrate respect and inclusiveness towards new immigrant cultures, Taichung City will host the "2024 Immigration Festival Celebration" on Saturday, November 30, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Dongshi Hakka Cultural Park. The event invites new immigrants and citizens to join in and experience the charm of multicultural integration.
The event will feature performances that blend Hakka cultural elements with the diverse cultural expressions of new immigrants, complemented by street performers. Attendees can explore international-themed stalls and markets, offering a variety of global cuisines and cultural exhibitions, providing a unique chance to experience different traditions. Additionally, there will be photo booths, multiple interactive activities, and a lucky draw to create fun and memorable moments for participants.
The Taichung City Government stated that this event not only highlights the city’s efforts in promoting support and guidance measures for new immigrants but also helps alleviate homesickness among them. Through cultural exchange, the event aims to deepen citizens' understanding of new immigrant cultures and reflect Taichung’s policy vision of being a "warm, welcoming, and inclusive city for all."
