CECC confirms 49 more COVID-19 cases, including 4 domestic cases and 45 imported cases

According to Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC), there are 45 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of those 45 cases, 4 are domestic and 45 are imported. The CECC announced no death today.

Regarding the domestic cases, they are 1 men and 3 women, aged between under 10 years old and around 50 years old.

Regarding the 45 new imported cases, they are 25 men and 20 women, aged between around 20 to 80 years old. 9 of them are from the United States, 3 from Hong Kong, 2 from Netherlands and Australia each, and 1 from Japan, Denmark, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, United Kingdom, Bangladesh, and Germany each. The remaining 21 cases arrived are being investigated. They arrived between January 15, 2022, to February 20, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 6,166,725 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 6,146,253. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 20,056 cases. Of the 20,056 confirmed cases, 4,615 are imported; 15,387 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection.

The command center once again appeals to the public that one should keep hands clean, wear a mask, reduce unnecessary travel, activities, or gatherings, avoid entering and leaving crowded places, or areas with high risk of infection transmission, and take the initiative to follow various regulations and stop the potential spread of the highly contagious variant within the community
