The Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) was held in New Delhi by the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre in India (TECC) because to the growing popularity of Chinese language in that country. Candidates mostly came from the provinces of Bihar, Haryana, and other regions, as well as from further afield. This demonstrates the value of learning Chinese since people from Dubai, Spain, and other locations came to take the exam.

Candidates from all around the world will sign up for various exam levels based on their proficiency in Chinese. Vishnu Priya, one of the candidates, claimed to be a student at Murcia, Spain. Vishnu Priya had studied under a Chinese master before moving to India to further her education and was much impacted. In her next visit, she also intended to travel to Taiwan for more studies.

Sayam Chengupta (古昇暘), another candidate, claimed that his mother is Taiwanese and that his father is Indian. Even though he typically only learns Chinese at home, spoken communication is not a problem. He also wants to attend a Taiwanese institution.

The Taiwan Education Center has recently undergone active development by the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India (TECC). It not only gives students a way to take Chinese language exams, but it also serves as an introduction to Taiwan for Indian students. In the future, candidates who perform well on the exam are expected to submit applications for scholarships to study in Taiwan for colleges.
