On May 24, the Tourism Bureau, MOTC stated that Ms. Chan Yee Ling of Hong Kong has been the 2 millionth tourist to Taiwan this year. Along with a great gift bag (台灣觀光吉祥物喔熊組長精美大禮包), Ms. Chan Yee Ling also earned NT$5,000 in consumption voucher. This marks the arrival of two million tourists, the Tourism Bureau said, two months after Taiwan had its one millionth visitor in March of this year.

The Tourism Bureau said that from February 20 of this year, visitors from Hong Kong and Macau have been able to travel independently to Taiwan, and they have done so without delay. Taiwan received 101,800 visitors in a single month in April, which ranked top. Between January and April, Taiwan had 1.62 million visitors overall, with Hong Kong, South Korea, and Japan placing first, second, and third, respectively.
The Taoyuan International Airport Passenger Service Center gave Ms. Chan Yee Ling, the 2 millionth lucky traveler, a great gift bag (台灣觀光吉祥物喔熊組長精美大禮包), which included a neck pillow, coffee, tea, 5G internet, and other items, to welcome Taiwan's 2 millionth visitor this year. Ms. Chan Yee Ling also received NT$5,000 in consumption voucher. According to her, this is her third visit to Taiwan and the first time she has brought the entire family since the outbreak. She will go to Taipei Zoo, Beitou, and other northern tourist attractions.

The Tourism Bureau claimed that since Taiwan's COVID-19 epidemic prevention has been relaxed and pertinent restrictions have been lifted, the Tourism Bureau has seized the opportunity and provided a number of preferential measures to attract tourists beginning on May 1. These preferential measures include restarting half-day transit tours and launching group tourists to Taiwan to welcome each group of travelers with rewards of NT$5,000 to NT$50,000, free trip to Taiwan for NT$5,000 worth of consumption vouchers, etc.
