NTD10,000 per Child! Legislative Yuan Approves Household Stimulus

Due to the economic impact of COVID-19, Legislative Yuan(行政院) has announced a COVID-19 relief check totaling at NTD10,000/child. The check is designated for families with dependents under elementary school age and/or in middle-to-high school with disability. The Legislative Yuan estimates that roughly 250,000 nationals qualify for said check. In addition, the Ministry of Education(MOE/教育部) has stated that Online Enrollment Portal will be made available starting 15th Jun. 2021, and deposits to be made starting 18th Jun. 2021. Similarly, cash withdrawal from accredited ATMs, namely Cathay United, China Trust, and Taishin International, will be made available beginning 18th Jun. 2021. Upon withdrawal, parent’s National ID number, as well as dependent’s NHI number will be requested. The last day for claiming the relief check through either method is currently set at 30th Sept. 2021.

  • Two ways to claim your relief check:
  1. Mobile registration through the Online Enrollment Portal by parent(s) or guardian(s) with i) dependent’s NHI number, ii) guardian’s National ID number, and iii) bank account number. Please ensure that the National ID number registered matches the associating bank account. Once verified, the check will be processed within the next business day.
  1. ATM withdrawal will be made available starting 18th Jun. 2021. The cash withdrawal process could be initiated with any Taiwanese debit cards through accredited ATMs, namely Cathay United, China Trust, and Taishin International. Upon withdrawal, parent’s National ID number, as well as dependent’s NHI number will be prompted.

Lastly, relief checks for dependents ages 0-2 has been issued by the Ministry of Health and Welfare(MOHW/衛福部). Should assistance be required, please call 1957.
