The 17th Taiwan European Film Festival (TEFF) has been launched recently. The Head of European Economic and Trade Office - Filip Grzegorzewski (高哲夫), the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Tien Chung-kwang (田中光), and the representative offices of 17 European nations attended the opening ceremony. Filip Grzegorzewski said that through the Festival, the Taiwan public will have a better understanding of European culture.

The theme this year is 'Let There be Light', and the film festival changes from a physical one to a virtual one due to COVID-19. A Slovakian film 'Let There be Light' was selected to unveil the event. The film describes the interaction between people and is filmed in various places in Slovakia. Moreover, the movie is a powerful tool for cultural interaction and a great channel to learn the languages of other countries.
Filip Grzegorzewski says, “I am really glad to see so many friends who love European movies come together in this festival.”

Tien Chung-kwang (田中光) said that music, literature, film, and culture possess a force of tolerance.
