Taipei tourism invited Thai online celebrity to Taipei to promote tourism

In order to strengthen the promotion for the Thai tourist market and enhance the city's popularity, the Department of Information and Tourism, Taipei City Government specially invited “Mint”, the owner of Facebook fanpage with over million fans, a YouTuber who has followers more than 330,000 people and also one of Thailand's top five tourism bloggers, to travel in Taipei and shoot a promotional video.

The Department of Information and Tourism invited “Mint” who has traveled for more than 60 countries, the owner of YouTube channel “I Roam Alone” and also a travel book author came to travel in Taipei and shoot a promotional video. The video come with the topic "Taipei Power-Up" and expects to be released in August, in addition to visiting the place that calm the mind and soothe the soul like temples; she also went to Zhuzihu, the Hydrangea IG hot spot, Beitou Hot Spring, Maokong Gondola and Dadaocheng historical sites etc.

Liu Yi-ting (劉奕霆), the director of the Department of Information and Tourism said that due to the advantages of the visa-free policy and the boom of low-cost airlines, the number of tourists exchanged between the two countries reached one million in 2018 , with a growth rate of 18%. The number of Thai visitors also reached 320,000, up 9.39% from the previous year (292,534). Thailand is currently the main country to promote Taiwan's new southbound policy, and it is also a continuously grow tourism market and an important source of tourists.
