The winners for the "2023 Taiwan Literature Awards for Migrants" was just released. This year, writers from the second-generation immigrants, new immigrants, and migrant workers are encouraged to submit works in five other languages, including Thai, Burmese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Filipino. There were 195 submissions, and there were 8 winners in all. On September 10, the award ceremony will take place.

The winners will also get a trophy and a bonus ranging from NT$20,000 to NT$100,000, depending on the award. Award-winning works could also get the chance to be incorporated into the script-development project and turn into a film or television production.

With a trophy and NT$100,000 in cash, first place was given to “Ký ức hoa hồng” (Memories of Roses) by Vietnamese author Vo Thi Diem Thu (武豔秋).

“Asah: Batu yang menjadi giok” (Polishing: even stones can be turned into jade)  by Indonesian author Chin Nyap Fong (陳業芳) won the "judge's choice" award, winning her a trophy and a NT$80,000 cash reward.
