Tech Interactive Experience Kicks Off, Inviting New Residents to Participate

The National Immigration Agency held the "Tech Adventure - Time Travel Journey" event at the National Science and Technology Museum in Kaohsiung on October 20 at 1 PM. Through interactive technology exhibits and VR career experiences, the event introduced new immigrants to the advantages of vocational skills, offering insights into various career opportunities. The event also provided information about free digital courses and a free tablet and laptop borrowing service for new immigrants. At the event's end was a prize draw with great gifts. The entire event was free of charge, allowing participants to leave with valuable cybersecurity knowledge and a joyful experience.

Beware of Electricity Bill Scam Messages, Do Not Click on Suspicious Links

Recently, scam groups have been impersonating Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) by sending fraudulent text messages reminding people of unpaid electricity bills, and attempting to trick recipients into clicking on suspicious links to steal personal information and credit card details. Taipower emphasizes that legitimate unpaid electricity bill reminders will never include URLs and that these notifications are sent via the government’s official short code platform (111), developed by the Ministry of Digital Affairs. People are urged to stay vigilant and verify that such messages come from 111. To check your electricity payment status, you can visit the Taipower official website and simply enter the account number from your bill—no login required. The Taiwan Power App also offers a convenient way to check your bill.

Taiwan Railway's New Luxury Tourist Trains "Sea Breeze" and "Mountain Mist" Set to Sail

Taiwan Railways signed a contract in September for two new luxury sightseeing trains, "Seafeng" and "Shanlan," with plans for their launch in November or December. These trains are designed for premium travel, operating along the central coastal route, the Hualien-Taitung Valley, and Yilan. The design of both trains is inspired by Taiwan's natural landscapes, with "Seafeng" featuring fresh blue and green tones that reflect the coastal scenery, while "Shanlan" uses yellow and green hues to represent the mountains and plains. Onboard, passengers can enjoy brunch, afternoon tea, or light snacks while gazing at the beautiful scenery through large windows, making for a unique luxury travel experience.

Say Goodbye to Sweat Rash! Keeping Your Skin Dry is Key

Taiwan's humid and hot climate causes many people to struggle with sweat rash, which often appears in areas with higher oil secretion or frequent sweating. Sweat rash presents as irregular brown or white patches, sometimes accompanied by mild peeling or rough texture. Dermatologists recommend that to improve or prevent sweat rash from recurring, the most important thing is to keep the skin dry. When sweating, promptly use a damp towel to dry off, avoiding sweat staying on the skin. In terms of treatment, antifungal creams, especially those containing azole ingredients, are the main approach. If the condition is severe, oral medication may also be necessary.
