In order to cultivate and to enrich the listening, speaking, reading and writing ability and basic life knowledge for Taiwanese and new residents who didn’t study, Miaoli County “2019 Annual Adult Basic Education Workshops and Foreign Spouse Literacy Classes” is open for registration now! Among them, the adult education class is divided into the junior, middle and advanced level study classes according to the students' learning level to give people the appropriate learning opportunities. The participation in the course is free. It expects that these classes can effectively reduce the illiteracy rate of the people in the county.
Those who participated in the study and obtained the certificate of completion of the advanced level of adult basic education, that is, the degree of completion of the primary school of the continuation school of the National Elementary School. Then they can continue study the higher level of continuation school to integrate into the modern social environment, enrich themselves, improve language communication and adapt to life, and enhance the quality of life.
Hsu Yao-chang (徐耀昌), the Miaoli county magistrate, said that in order to promote lifelong education, respond to the new southbound policy, implement new residents' care and training, and continue to run adult basic education workshops and foreign spouse literacy classes in the county, Miaoli County's illiteracy rate dropped to 0.63% last year (2018), which shows that we attach importance to basic education.
This year (2019), 12 schools (units) will be operated, with a total of 24 classes (including 19 classes of foreign spouse literacy classes). From now on, please go to any of opening class units to register and ask for the time and place of study. The public can join the class at nearby the place of residence.
