News Focus (December 27 – January 2) 

Nationwide level 2 epidemic alert is extended and masks must be worn at all times

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that the Level 2 epidemic alert will be maintained until December 27, 2021. Mask regulations are no longer eased, masks must be worn at all times outdoors. (Read more: Nationwide level 2 epidemic alert is extended and masks must be worn at all times)

Fully vaccinated people are eligible for booster shots

The CCEC announced that fully vaccinated people with 2 vaccine doses can receive the booster shot 5 months after their second dose. (Read more: Fully vaccinated people are eligible for booster shots)

NIA will prevent invasion of the African swine fever during CNY

The Lunar New Year is approaching and many new immigrants are returning from their hometowns. The National Immigration Agency (NIA) reminds them not to bring meat products into Taiwan when returning. Yunlin sets up vaccination stations for migrant workers

The Public Health Bureau in Yunlin set up safe vaccination station to provide convenience to migrant workers. This is in response to the Carefree Vaccination for New Immigrants policy and the project adopts the 4 principles: “won’t be reported”, “won’t be seized”, “won’t be charged for any fee”, “won’t be banned”.
