Tips to Prevent Fraud: Chiayi City Teams Up with the Prosecutor's Office to Protect Your Safety

The Chiayi City Government and the Chiayi District Prosecutor's Office in Taiwan joined hands to organize an anti-fraud promotion and integrity volunteer training event called "Chiayi Anti-Fraud Tips: Protecting Your Assets." The event attracted numerous citizens and volunteers, receiving enthusiastic responses from attendees. The goal of this event was to raise awareness about fraud prevention among citizens and volunteers, protecting personal property and safety.

Mayor Huang Min-Hui of Chiayi City emphasized the 5 "No" principles for fraud prevention: "Don't Answer," "Don't Listen," "Don't Click," "Don't Forward," and "Don't Believe." She also introduced three steps for fraud prevention: "Stay Calm," "Verify," and "Report." Through this event, she hopes to strengthen citizens' self-protection awareness and create a safe and harmonious living environment. At the event, Chiayi District Prosecutor's Office Chief Prosecutor Chen Song-Ji delivered a speech, highlighting that modern fraud techniques are constantly evolving, making it difficult for citizens to guard against them. Therefore, raising public awareness and prevention of fraud has become a crucial task for the prosecutorial and governmental authorities.

The event featured a keynote lecture by Prosecutor Chen Yu-Feng of the Chiayi District Prosecutor's Office. He shared practical cases of fraud investigations, revealing common tactics and tricks used by fraud groups. He emphasized that citizens should remain vigilant, respond calmly to suspicious situations, and verify information promptly to avoid becoming victims of fraud.

The course content was rich and practical, leaving every participating volunteer and citizen feeling greatly benefited. Through case studies, participants deepened their understanding of fraud techniques and learned how to stay alert in daily life to prevent fraud. The atmosphere at the event was lively, with active questioning from attendees, and Prosecutor Chen patiently answered, providing valuable insights to participants.

This cross-domain collaboration between the Chiayi City Government and the Chiayi District Prosecutor's Office aimed to jointly promote fraud prevention knowledge and protect citizens' property. The city government hopes to continue organizing more similar events in the future, enhancing fraud prevention awareness among every citizen and creating a safer Chiayi City.
