According to INQUIRER.NET, tropical depression Crising accelerated and is now in the vicinity of Lanao del Sur, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported on May 14 morning.
The state weather bureau said that as of 7 a.m., Crising was located in the vicinity of Marawi City, Lanao del Sur with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 75 kph.
It is moving west-northwest at 15 kph.
INQUIRER.NET mentions that Pagasa said light to moderate with at times heavy rains may be experienced in the Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao City, Davao del Sur, Cotabato, Maguindanao, Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, and Misamis Occidental.
“Under these conditions, isolated flash flooding and rain-induced landslides are possible during heavy or prolonged rainfall especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards as identified in hazard maps,” Pagasa said.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 is up over the following areas:
southeastern part of Negros Oriental;
Siquijor
western part of Misamis Oriental;
western part of Bukidnon;
northwestern part of Cotabato;
northern part of Maguindanao;
Lanao del Sur
Lanao del Norte
Misamis Occidental
northeastern part of Zamboanga del Sur
northeastern part of Zamboanga del Norte
Pagasa said strong breeze conditions are likely over the areas under TCWS No. 1, especially in the coastal and mountainous areas.
