Vietnamese visitors visiting Taiwan are primarily group travelers at the moment, according to Chou Hsin-yi, the director of the Tourism Administration's Ho Chi Minh City office, because of visa applications. Tourism Administration has specifically partnered with the Vietnamese Klook platform to develop a dedicated area for Taiwan travel, with hundreds of itineraries available for purchase, in an effort to draw in independent travelers.
Director Chou went on to say that Vietnamese independent travelers have more days of travel in addition to having higher spending potential. As a result, a limited discount sale is concurrently introduced in the Taiwan travel area of the Vietnam Klook platform, with a maximum discount of 200,000 VND (about NT$265) accessible for a single order.
Vietnamese visitors visited Taiwan in excess of 400,000 times in 2019, while the number of bilateral visits topped one million in 2018, according to data from the Tourism Administration of MOTC. Over 190,000 Vietnamese visitors visited Taiwan in the first half of this year; this represents a 95% recovery from the same period prior to the COVID-19 outbreak.
