Taiwanese diva Jody Chiang recently announced her return to the stage after a 9-year hiatus but suddenly stated on September 10, revealing that the real reason for her retirement was being diagnosed with cancer. She admitted that even before her "Blessing" concert in 2015, she had noticed abnormal health conditions, but she chose to self-medicate. The situation worsened, and after a medical examination, she was diagnosed with cancer. After undergoing surgery and chemotherapy, her voice was damaged to the point where she couldn't even speak, prompting her to re-evaluate the meaning of life as she hovered between life and death.Drinking alcohol is linked to an increased risk of various types of cancer. Cancer is the leading cause of death in Taiwan, but 80% of cancer cases can be prevented. According to the American Cancer Prevention Foundation, adopting 11 daily habits can significantly reduce the risk of cancer. These include reducing alcohol consumption, avoiding smoking, maintaining an ideal weight, regular exercise, a balanced diet, increasing plant-based food intake, avoiding excessive sun exposure, regular screenings, getting the HPV vaccine, healing emotional wounds, and paying attention to family medical history and health check-ups. These simple lifestyle changes not only protect health but also serve as an important defense against cancer.
