Taiwan Immigrants' Global News Network】According to The Straits Times, Lina Ong, a project accountant, instantly enrolled her 11-year-old son after receiving a text message suggesting he was eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine.

Madam Ong, 47, arrived at the Pasir Ris Elias Community Club immunization center around 7.40 a.m. on Monday (Dec 27), just before it opened at 8 a.m.

She made her reservation as soon as she received the SMS last Wednesday, securing one of the first spaces available on the first day of paediatric vaccinations for students in Primary 4 to Primary 6.

Her kid, a Temasek Primary School student named Keagan Ho, said his jab was not painful and just lasted a few seconds. After the immunization, he was handed a sticker.

Madam Ong had also brought her eight-year-old son, and the three of them had left the center by 8.40 a.m.

She stated, " "The entire procedure went off without a hitch and was well planned. I wanted him to be one of the first, so he could return home and recover."

She went on to say that she planned to get her other son vaccinated soon so that they could go abroad as a family with peace of mind.

More than 40% of students in Primary 4 to Primary 6 have signed up for the Covid-19 vaccine.

Last Wednesday, around 110,000 SMS invites to obtain the vaccine were sent to parents of children in the age category.

On Monday, seven paediatric vaccination centers started, with another eight set to begin in January of next year.
