Eastern Mainline Line‘s Extra Trains to Well Organize the Passenger Flows During Spring Festival

In response to the demand for traffic in the areas of Hualien and Taitung during the Spring Festival, Taiwan Railways Administration will operate 8 more trains of the Eastern Mainline routes on January 22 (Wed), January 23 (Thu), January 24 (Fri), January 28 (Tue), and January 29 (Wed) in 2020.

The booking system is scheduled to open for extra trains via voice mail, the Internet, or the convenience store booking system on January 7of 2020 at midnight. For the detailed train schedule and timetable, please refer to the official website of Taiwan Railways Administration and the booking service app, "台鐵e訂通2019". 

 

Besides, to reduce traffic congestion on Freeway No. 5 and strengthen the capacity of the Eastern Mainline routes, Taiwan Railways Administration will operate more trains, Fuxing Express (Shulin---Yilan---Hualien/ Taipei---Yilan---Hualien), to manage the traffic and passengers from January 23 to January 29 (7 days in total). Moreover, NT$100 train tickets from Taipei to Yilan and NT$ 200 train tickets from Taipei to Hualien will also be provided.

 

Furthermore, Hualien County Government and Taitung County Government also apply for 4 trains and 6 trains for passengers to return to their hometowns or work. (10 extra trains in total). The local governments will separately announce relevant information, and everyone is welcome to make good use of it.
