Painted New Life, NIA Held “2019 New Immigrant Seminar in Central Area”

NIA held the forum of 2019 New Immigrant Seminar in Central Area at National Changhua Living Art Center on 20th. NIA Deputy Director Liang Guo-hui (梁國輝) and over 200 new residents from Taichung, Changhua and Nantou participated in the forum to discuss the issues of family life, people service and the second generation talents project for new residents. It expected to the new residents to live out the bright life in Taiwan.

NIA Deputy Director Liang Guo-hui stated that understanding is the way for the government to provide the necessary help; listening is the best way to understand the difficulties of new residents and set up the most suitable policy. Although we may not be able to fulfill the needs from all people, we can try to hear everyone’s opinions. The forum not only aims to listen to the suggestions of new residents, but it also promotes the digital courses, second generation talents, scholarship, dream project and the short visit of mainland spouse’s parents of new residents. It hopes to allow the new residents to understand their own rights more and assist them to fit into Taiwanese society.

Besides holding the forum, it also exhibited the paintings of mainland new resident Wang Li(王莉), who is the winner of 2018 NIA Dream Project. Wang utilized colors to show her hometown, the old times and hometown appear clearly through painting which throwback to the past and rethink of life, she said. In addition to drawing and teaching paintings, she also donated her revenue of drawings for the second generation of new residents. She believed that everyone’s life can affect others, and focusing on every little thing can touch people’s hearts. Wang pointed at one of her paintings and said that “the colors of the paintings is my hometown, and places under my feet is my home.”

Liang stated that he could totally understand the uneasy and the difficulties of living in another country. Thus, each suggestion is precious to the government. He further showed his appreciation to all new residents for loving and growing together in Taiwan and becomes the new hope of Taiwan.
