Taiwanese Pork Reaches Singapore! Famous Restaurant ‘Crab House’ Brings Classic Taiwanese Flavors

Taiwanese pork has entered the international market with another good news! The Ministry of Agriculture announced on November 29 that the Singapore government has officially approved the import of Taiwan's fresh pork, becoming another important export market after the Philippines and adding another milestone to Taiwan's fresh pork expansion into the international territory. 

To promote Taiwanese pork and processed products to Singapore, the Ministry of Agriculture teamed up with the well-known Singaporean restaurant "House of Seafood" to hold a food exchange event from December 13 to 28, and launched a themed set meal that combined pork rice and sausages. The Ministry of Agriculture stated that Taiwan was listed as a foot-and-mouth disease-free area by the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) in 2020, and this year it has also been certified as a country free of African swine fever, which shows that the quality of and safety of Taiwan's pork are internationally recognized. From January to November this year, exports of prepared pork to Singapore amounted to US$53,842, an increase of 18.7% over the same period last year, indicating stable growth in market demand. The Ministry of Agriculture emphasized that in the future, it will continue to assist operators to expand international markets, deepen consumer trust, promote trade cooperation between Taichung and Singapore, and increase the export sales value of agricultural products.

Wu Wenling, Minister of the Representative Office in Singapore, pointed out that Taiwanese pork is expected to be officially imported in the first quarter of next year, which will benefit from the improvement of Taiwan’s modern slaughterhouse management and cold chain technology. Taiwanese pork has no fishy smell and has a unique flavor. This food exchange event will help increase the purchasing intention of Singaporean consumers. Zhang Huangzhen, deputy director of the Institute of Business Research, said that this cooperation is just the starting point. Taiwanese pork will officially enter the Singapore market in the first quarter of next year, bringing more choices and surprises to the local food supply.

Minglai, the person in charge of "Crab House" shared his love for Taiwanese pork and recalled that he was deeply impressed by its sweetness and deliciousness when he traveled to Taiwan in the past. He said that this time, Taiwanese pork is combined with seafood dishes, and a variety of Chinese and Western delicacies are innovatively launched, hoping to allow Singaporean consumers to enjoy a unique taste experience and further understand the high quality and diverse flavors of Taiwanese pork.
