According to In Negros Oriental, parents of child workers get aid | Inquirer News, this year, 210 parents of child laborers in the province would get livelihood aid from the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) in Negros Oriental, valued at around P5 million.

The parents-beneficiaries have been profiled since last year in order to ascertain their unique demands and requirements, according to Rubie Cempron, the agency's provincial labor and employment officer 2.

With the help of the Philippine News Agency, Cempron released a statement stating that the program's objective is to remove these young employees from Negros Oriental businesses, sugarcane fields, and other workplaces.

The first livelihood support for producing vegetables was given to three parent-beneficiaries in Barangay Alangilanan of Manjuyod town on October 11.

According to In Negros Oriental, parents of child workers get aid | Inquirer News, seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and backpack sprayers were supplied to assist with their vegetable production.

As soon as their individual intended livelihoods are procured based on their profile and evaluation, the remaining recipients will receive their help, according to Cempron.

Each parent receives a different level of support, according to her, because some recipients would rather enhance their current revenue streams—such as operating a sari-sari store.
