A variety of fraudulent methods in recent years involves in defrauding head accounts with high salaries, or using overseas job opportunities to conduct human trafficking, etc. One may be deceived and lose money without being cautious. National Immigration Agency (Nantou County Service Center) and Specialized Operation Corps. visited Nan Kai University of Technology and National Chi Nan University this month to disseminate the concept of anti-fraud and human trafficking prevention to foreign students, held human trafficking discussions with the school to strengthen campus security network.

According to Mr. Yu, the manager of overseas Chinese students’ business of National Chi Nan University, that the school reminds foreign students to the latest fraudulent methods through the usual assembly, but still, some students are caught off guard and deceived and rashly remit money. The cooperation with the school and NIA not only to reminds foreign students not to overstay and work illegally also appeal to not to easily remit money to unknown accounts, and not to believe in slogans such as high salary recruitment, easy work, etc., and do not hand over your account and bank password to strangers which may make yourself an accomplice in crime.

On the discussion of prevention human trafficking organized by NIA and Nan Kai University of Technology, the school elaborates the current situation of foreign students' study and internship and claims that foreign students and the school have a strong communication channel during their internship, immediate assistance is provided. On the same day, NIA also provided relevant information and reporting methods of human trafficking for foreign students, so that students can better understand the appearance of human trafficking and avoid becoming victims of it.

Cai, Chong-Fu (蔡崇富), the Director of Nantou County Service Center, stated that foreign students should focus on their academic studies and be vigilant to avoid being lured by criminal groups using high-paying jobs and other rhetoric if they stay in Taiwan after graduation to seek a job. National Immigration Agency will continue to strengthen cooperation with schools to disseminate anti-fraud and prevention of human trafficking, so that foreign students can safely study in Taiwan.
