Agile Group and the Taichung City Government have joined forces to launch the construction of the "Taichung International Yacht Harbor" at Pier 20 of Taichung Port. At the launch ceremony, Deputy Mayor Cheng Chao-Hsin expressed his gratitude to Agile Yacht Group for choosing Taichung as the site for this professional yacht marina. He stated that the project is expected to promote marine culture and the sailing industry in Central Taiwan, driving the development of tourism, transportation, and accommodation industries, and positioning Taichung as a key hub for international maritime transport.
As a crucial transportation hub in Taiwan, Taichung boasts the vast hinterland of Taichung Port and significant geographical advantages, making the coastal area’s development potential immense. In recent years, the establishment of Mitsui Outlet in Wuqi District, the construction of the Mazu statue at Da'an Mazu Park, the upcoming trial operation of the Qingshui Aquarium, the opening of the Shengxian Market at Dajia Matsubara Fishing Port, and the planning of various attractions like Wuqi Fishing Port, have all contributed to making Taichung’s coastal region a key area for tourism, leisure, and recreation. The construction of the Agile Yacht Marina will further enhance Taichung’s international reputation.

Deputy Mayor Cheng emphasized that the presence of Agile Group will not only provide high-quality services to the citizens but also create an international-level yacht marina that integrates yacht recreation, marine education, and family entertainment, promoting marine sports culture and working together towards sustainable development. The city government team will fully support and assist in the smooth progression of this project.
From October 10 to 13 this year, Taichung Port will host the "2024 TSL Taigang Group TSG Sailing Race," organized by Agile Yacht Group. This race will start from Taichung Port, with a stopover in Penghu before returning to Tainan, marking a new milestone in the long-distance sailing race, expected to attract a large number of tourists and sailing enthusiasts.
Agile Group stated that the Taichung International Yacht Harbor is located in the scenic port area of the Mitsui Outlet Ferris Wheel. The project includes an international yacht marina, yacht boulevard, yacht hotel, yacht club, marine academy, dry boat storage area, and related commercial service facilities, offering diverse land and sea leisure experiences. Agile Group further noted that the first phase of the yacht marina construction will commence in August, providing 49 berths; the second phase is expected to start in 2026, adding 52 more berths and commercial facilities such as the yacht boulevard, with the entire project scheduled for completion and opening by April 2028. This will make Taichung the yachting tourism gateway of central Taiwan, connecting it to the international scene and establishing it as a new core of marine culture and tourism.
With Agile Group's involvement and the gradual completion of various facilities, the Taichung International Yacht Harbor is set to become a significant force in promoting marine culture and tourism, allowing more domestic and international visitors to experience the endless charm of Taichung's coastal areas.
