According to The Straits Times, at the day hospice facility Oasis@Outram, the host was Health Minister Ong Ye Kung. Instead of a predetermined program, the center gives patients the opportunity to select the activities and services they desire. In contrast to normal centers, it also has a cafe and a bar.

These services are crucial to end-of-life care, which is a focus topic for the Ministry of Health. To help people maintain their quality of life even in their final days and pass away well, he said, "We hope to enhance end-of-life care."

It demonstrates how end-of-life care can be incorporated into society in a meaningful and respectful way, and it strives to change people's perspectives on death.

The new 900 square meter facility offers activities for adults including art and craft, gardening, manicures, movies in a mini-theatre, and mahjong in a room with heavy, black curtains that has a somewhat casino vibe.

For patients who are referred there with terminal illnesses, all these services are free.
