[Taiwan Immigrants’ Global News Network] National Immigration Agency has pushed the "Expanded Overstayers Voluntary Departure Program" from February 1st to June 30th this year in an effort to assist foreigners who have overstayed in Taiwan return to their home country as soon as possible. A mobile service train was launched by the NIA Yunlin County Service Center for the Mailiao Eco-industrial Park, EPG(麥寮台塑工業園區) to introduce the program to the migrant workers in the park. In addition, migrant workers in the park were encouraged to share the information to their fellows who had overstayed to self-report as soon as possible.

There are a large number of migrant workers in the Mailiao Eco-industrial Park, EPG(麥寮台塑工業園區). There are hundreds of skilled Thai migrant workers hired by the company itself. Plus the number of migrant workers from various countries hired by contractors is added to work in the park every day, the total number is nearly 10,000. In order to avoid the overstaying immigrant population suffering from infectious diseases due to seasonal alternation and delay in seeking medical treatment for fear of fines or control regulations, the NIA Yunlin County Service Center went to promote the "Expanded Overstayers Voluntary Departure Program". To expand the extensibility of information, this publicity adopts the method of scanning QRcode to spread to the community groups of migrant workers, and then transmit the content of the project through the Internet.

In response to the outbreak, NIA supported the "Expanded Overstayers Voluntary Departure Program,” noted director (陳駿璿) of the Yunlin County Service Center. In order to encourage disconnect migrant workers or foreigners who have overstayed to self-report, the serviceenter has prepared bilingual brochures and posters for the bulletin board and has advertised by scanning codes. Mailiao Eco-industrial Park, EPG(麥寮台塑工業園區) is the largest industrial area in Yunlin County and has a large number of migrant workers.
