The new immigrant from Japan, Kurosaki Junko (黑崎順子), got married in Taiwan and devoted herself to Japanese language education for nearly 30 years. She has been employed in Chiayi community colleges and high schools and trained countless students across different ages. Ms. Kurosaki's greatest strength lies in teaching difficult Japanese grammar in a fun and easy way, and her lessons are very popular among students.
Kurosaki Junko applied for "Mackay Project (馬偕計畫)" – a project that commemorates Dr. Mackay’s contribution to Taiwan successfully. Foreigners who hold permanent residence permits, above 65 years old, have been residing in Taiwan for more than 20 years, and have made special contributions or done long-term services to Taiwan, can apply to the Ministry of Health and Welfare for the "Mackay Project".
The project recipients will share the same privileges with Taiwanese senior citizens for traveling by domestic public transportations and accessing the public-operated scenic areas, amusement fields, cultural and educational facilities, and long-term care.
National Immigration Agency (Chiayi City Service Center) specially presented a permanent residence permit with newly added annotations, and a certificate of appreciation to thank for Kurosaki’s long-term contribution to Japanese education in Taiwan.

Ms. Kurosaki said that Taiwan is like her second hometown. Because Japan donated vaccines to Taiwan, she also met many Taiwanese strangers expressing her gratitude to her. When she saw the flags of Taiwan and Japan hung on the roadside, she was moved by the sincere friendship between Taiwan and Japan.
Chiayi City Service Center appealed to the public that during the “Carefree Covid-19 Vaccination Program”, foreign nationals, including undocumented migrant workers and overstayers are encouraged to receive free vaccination with peace of mind. The program adopts “won’t be reported”, “won’t be seized”, “won’t be charged for any fee”, “won’t be banned”. The implementation period will end on January 31, 2022, and the public is reminded to protect themselves and their loved ones.
