According to 60 more OFWs from Israel to arrive Monday | Global News (inquirer.net), on October 30, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) reports that the fourth group of Filipinos returned from Israel arrived in Manila.

There are 28 carers and 32 hotel employees among the 60 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). Due to the fighting between Israeli troops and the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, three groups of 59 OFWs have already left Israel and returned home.

Further types of support would be provided to the returning workers, according to DMW officer in charge Undersecretary Hans Leo Cacdac.

Additionally, according to 60 more OFWs from Israel to arrive Monday | Global News (inquirer.net), the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration will provide livelihood help, Cacdac added.

According to Cacdac, the Department of Labor and Employment will provide local employment facilitation services to those returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who would like to stay and work in the Philippines, while the DMW will assist returning OFWs who might want to consider going abroad for employment.

Government statistics indicates that there are around 30,000 Filipinos in Israel, with the bulk of them employed as caretakers. As of right now, the government has verified that four Filipinos have lost their lives in the conflict that resulted from Hamas's October 7 bombings, which killed 1,400 Israelis.

In retaliation, Israel declared war on Gaza, imposed a total blockade, and heavily bombed Hamas targets. According to 60 more OFWs from Israel to arrive Monday | Global News (inquirer.net), in an effort to find the two missing Filipinos, Cacdac stated that the government was working with the Israel Defense Forces.

On October 27, the Israeli Embassy in Manila said that the two Filipinos who were still unaccounted for in Israel were most likely abducted.

According to Cacdac, 124 OFWs from Lebanon have also applied for return.

According to Cacdac, the DMW was making every effort to guarantee that the OFWs would enter the nation as soon as feasible.
