The "Fragrance of Rice Journey" agritourism activity launched by the Agriculture and Food Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture this summer focuses on the rice-duck farming method. Combining agriculture, family education, and culinary experiences, it allows parents and children to explore the world of rice together and create beautiful memories. This event will be held in Miaoli, Taichung, Tainan, and Hualien, guiding participants from the field to the table to experience rice ball DIY, field ecological observation, and more.
By signing up for the "Fragrance of Rice Journey" package, participants will receive a bag of high-quality domestic rice and have the chance to exchange two "2nd Taiwan Ten Rice Ball Award" vouchers. Participants can learn about the rice growing process, personally experience rice milling and cooking, and participate in rice ball DIY activities to make their own rice balls and taste the delicious Taiwanese rice.
Additionally, those who purchase the package during the event will have the chance to participate in a lottery to win five bags of gold award-winning rice from the "2024 Premium Rice Award Selection," making the agritourism experience more enriching and fun.
The event will take place over several weekends in July and August, including July 13, 14, 27, 28, August 17, 18, and 24. The cost for each session is NT$800, with a cleaning fee of NT$100 for children under four. Each session requires a minimum of 15 participants and a maximum of 35. If the number of participants is not met, the organizer will assist in rescheduling.

The event will be held at No. 91-5, Yutian Village, Yuanli Town, Miaoli County, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Participants are advised to wear comfortable shoes and bring water bottles and a change of clothes for field activities.
Event activities include:
- "Joyful Meeting with Rice": Introduction to the landscape of rice-duck farming, and field visits.
- "Cooking Good Rice Together": Visit an organic rice mill, learn about the rice milling process, and how to select and cook good rice.
- July Sessions: Creative DIY rice straw dolls.
- August Sessions: Rice fun with ducklings, life education about ducklings, rice milling experience, and designing a personal bag of rice.
- "Let's Play with Rice": Make creative rice balls and enjoy the fun of rice food.
Participants will receive a bag of Sunlight Rice (Tainan No. 11) and a rice gift box for self-painting as a souvenir. Limited quantities are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Shanshui Rice, produced by Chuan Shun Food Enterprise Co., Ltd., has been promoting organic rice culture since its establishment in 1979. In 2005, they built an "organic rice field" to promote food and agricultural education, environmental education, and rice culture. This "Fragrance of Rice Journey" is part of Shanshui Rice's ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts.
