National Immigration Agency Tainan City First Service Center recently invited new immigrants from various nations to learn how to make rolled paper cards, which they could then send back to their hometowns to express their longing for their mothers and share in the festive atmosphere of Mother's Day.

Participants in this activity included new immigrants from Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. A new immigrant lecturer from Vietnam (范玉映) was invited to teach the participants how to produce rolled paper cards. Everyone signed their own cards with blessings when they were finished, and they were then sent back to their hometowns in the hopes that moms there would receive blessings from Taiwan.

According to the director (林志鴻) of the National Immigration Agency Tainan City First Service Center, new immigrants in Taiwan can convey their longing for their hometowns through the activity of making hand-made rolled paper cards, and they can also let mothers who are far away in their hometown know that their relatives are doing well and happy in Taiwan.
