Indian Students to Experience Taiwanese Spring Festival Customs

Even though it does not have the custom of celebrating the Lunar New Year, India, another significant country in Asia, responds to the trend of international tourism during the Lunar New Year even if it does not observe the holiday. Lunar New Year decorations can also be seen in several locations in India.

There are now 26 universities or middle schools in India that Taiwan Education Centers are established in, according to the Ministry of Education of Taiwan. Mandarin classes for the Spring Festival have lately been scheduled by the Taiwanese teachers who went to teach. Except for Kolkata, a major city with a sizable Chinese population, there is no Lunar New Year vibes, therefore Indian students are very interested in Lunar New Year's traditions.

Indians do not observe the Spring Festival, however, Taiwanese teachers in India teach Indian students Lunar New Year traditions with Taiwanese characteristics before the Spring Festival. This is done so that Indians can learn more about Taiwan.

The head of the education group of the representative office in India (陳立穎), went to the scene to care for the teaching condition and experience the Lunar New Year vibes with Indian students. In order to celebrate the New Year with Indian students at Bluebells School International, which is also located in Delhi, Taiwanese teachers specially prepared fried noodles, dumplings, and other typical Taiwanese foods. This allowed the students to comprehend the significance of dumplings.

In order for Indian students to comprehend the characteristics of Taiwan's Spring Festival, The head of the education group of the representative office in India (陳立穎) claimed that Taiwanese teachers introduced a variety of festive activities such as Taiwanese year-end banquets, Spring Festival couplets, paper-cutting, New Year's shopping streets, temple prayers, New Year's customs, and Taiwanese Lantern Festivals or Beehive Fireworks Festival.
