The Tainan City Government (台南市府) announced new regulations on epidemic prevention measures for residential long-term care institutions. Mayor Huang Wei-Che (黃偉哲) pointed out that because the residents living in long-term care institutions are mostly elderly people, and most have poor health conditions, or have poor ability to take care of themselves; if one person gets infected, it may lead to a chain of infections and go out of control. Therefore, for safety, we must be very strict and careful. We hope that the public will work together to protect our communities.

Then another screening will be performed on the 7th and 14th day from the date of return to the institution, which is again at their own expense. As for the visitation regulations, the partitions will be removed, but the elderly and their visitors must still maintain social distancing. At present, the appointment system is still adopted and not more than 3 visitors in each area are allowed during the fixed time of the day. If there are three visiting areas, each area is limited to 3 people. In addition, the staff and residents of long-term care institutions must be especially careful to prevent the epidemic. Therefore, relevant epidemic prevention regulations are formulated for visiting family members, and the public should cooperate.
