The Ministry of Education promotes the "New Immigrant Language Level Assessment Mechanism" (新住民語文級別評估機制) in order to execute the new immigrant language curriculum for elementary and middle school students. It is intended that by keeping track of new immigrant students' academic achievement, mother tongue inheritance can continue, cultural identity can be further strengthened, and family togetherness can be strengthened, too.

The K-12 Education Administration, Ministry of Education said that the "New Immigrant Language Level Assessment Mechanism" (新住民語文級別評估機制) was created to understand the beginning of children' learning, gather objective indications of language proficiency, and serve as the foundation for proper class placement. Students who enroll in the new immigrants' language course for the first time and demonstrate proficiency in hearing, speaking, reading, and writing may request a level evaluation.

There are also middle school students who claim they usually speak Vietnamese with their families, who are proud to be half Taiwanese and half Vietnamese, and who intend to take the intermediate and advanced Vietnamese language tests in order to encourage themselves to broaden their horizons and demonstrate diversity. Some students expressed the expectation that by continuing to study Vietnamese and integrating legal knowledge, they will be able to offer pertinent assistance in the future when new immigrants run into issues.
