Independent Travellers from Hong Kong and Macau allowed to visit Taiwan since February

At the end of 2022, international travel became easier as COVID-19 restrictions ended, and Taiwan opened its borders.  This February, the first independent travellers visited Taiwan.  Some tourists couldn’t hide their happiness, because had waited for a long time for traveling to Taiwan.

One of the tourists said, “It has been a long time since I had Taiwanese braised pork rice.”  Though she only had two days off, she would like to visit Raohe Night Market in Taipei.  One another tourist surnamed Tam said that she studied in Taiwan and graduated three years ago.  She missed her teachers and classmates in Taiwan very much.  This time, she would like to visit Taipei 101 and Ximending.

Taiwan started to allow tour groups from Hong Kong and Macau to apply to enter the country last November.  This February, independent travellers were allowed to enter Taiwan as well.  The government now have a lot of marketing plans to attract foreign tourists to come for boosting the tourism industry.
