Taoyuan International Airport has declared that it would increase the frequency of passenger buses in response to the growth in foreign tourists visiting Taiwan. Additionally, the Metro Taipei intends to expand its stations to provide Japanese arrival announcement service as well as add Korean arrival announcement service.

Taoyuan International Airport has spoken with the bus operator and the Taoyuan Airport MRT to increase the number of runs to coordinate the resume of public transportation by the continual growth in the number of passengers. The Taoyuan Airport MRT’s express trains have resumed their pre-epidemic schedule, while the frequency of Passenger Buses has progressively increased to 39% of the pre-epidemic traffic flow and will return to regular 15-minute intervals in early August.

At fifteen stations, including Taipei Main Station, Zhongshan, Ximen, and Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, the Metro Taipei MRT will also incorporate Korean train arrival announcements. Eight transfer stations, including Minquan West Road, Nanjing Fuxing, and Nangang Exhibition Hall, were added to the initial 13 stations for Japanese transmission, bringing the total to 21 stations.

Metro Taipei will also add Korean MRT arrival announcements at 15 stations including Taipei Main Station, Zhongshan, Ximen, and Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. Japanese arrival announcements were added to 8 transfer stations including Minquan West Road, Nanjing Fuxing, and Nangang Exhibition Hall.

The Metro Taipei also announced that, going forward, the display above the door will alternately display in Chinese and English, as well as Mandarin, English, Japanese, Korean, Hokkien, and Hakka for arrivals announcements. Passengers from all around the world may easily recognize the station by name. In order to offer more thorough travel services in the future, Metro Taipei will keep tracking and gathering information about the requirements of foreign travelers.
