According to [GMA News], Hidilyn Diaz received another of the pledges and incentives promised her after her historic gold medal performance in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The car was pledged by AC Motors and Kia Philippines.

Trinidad was the one who initially suggested to a contact in the Ayala Foundation to recognize Diaz's recent feat in the Tokyo Games.

Diaz, on June 26, became the Philippines' first-ever gold medalist after winning the women's 55-kg category weightlifting event.

"All I wanted was to find her a fitting reward. I was reminded kasi of what Onyok Velasco got in 1996. Yan yung naging inspiration ko," Trinidad told GMA News Online.

On their part, the Ayala Foundation was quick to make the recognition for Diaz after her triumph.

"For her record-making and record-breaking achievement at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Hidilyn Diaz, the first-ever Filipino to win a gold medal at the quadrennial summer games, is considered a modern-day hero," they previously said in a statement.

The vehicle turned out to be a much-needed reward as Diaz later shared with Trinidad that she had needed to sell her previous vehicle, a second-hand car, during her preparation for the Olympics.

According to [GMA News], after her gold medal feat, Diaz is tipped to receive at least P50 million worth of cash along with other pledges like house and lots, lifetime free flights, and free lifetime fuel, among others. Aside from this vehicle, she has already received at least P13 million in cash incentives from the MVP Sports Foundation and Rep. Mikee Romero.
