Last September, Kaohsiung City has just become the sister city of Koror State - the largest state in Palau. As COVID-19 is still spreading in Palau, Kaohsiung City collaborates with enterprises, including NAN LIU ENTERPRISE CO. and BIO-CHECK LABORATORIES LTD, to donate more than masks and rapid test reagents to Palau. This is to show the friendship between Taiwan and Palau, as well as declare our determination to fight against the pandemic with the international community.

Earlier this year, the confirmed cases in Palau surges. Therefore, Kaohsiung City Government and local enterprises provided 10,800 pieces of medical masks, 1,440 pieces of N95 masks, and 2,000 rapid test reagents to Palau. The ambassador at the Embassy of Palau, Dilmei L. Olkeriil, received the supplies as the representative of Palau, hoping the situation will be getting better.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Taiwan and Palau in 1999, there have been exchanges in the fields of medical care, tourism, agriculture, and fishery. The President of Palau Surangel Whipps, Jr. has also acknowledged Taiwan's contribution to the global fight against the pandemic last September.
