Taipei Business Uni to postpone opening to March. 2 and to provide distance learning

To work with the epidemic prevention policy by the government and prevent the Wuhan pneumonia spreading, the National Taipei University of Business (abbreviated to the NTUB) postponed its opening including the registration date to March. 2. Chinese students can return to school only after the epidemic eased. To ensure that national students and Chinese students can study at ease, the NTUB has set up a team of urgency epidemic prevention on Feb. 3 and announced on Feb. 4 its cooperation with the "National Open University" to establish digital teaching materials and promote long-distance learning so that students' studying will not be affected by the epidemic prevention measures.

In consideration of the epidemic situation and protecting students' rights, the NTUB formulated the "Flexible Course Mechanism" for students who are not able to return to school due to epidemic prevention. Apart from properly arranging students' relevant affairs, such as enrollment, registration payment, course registration methods, performance assessment, vacation leave, resumption of studies, and counseling assistance, etc, the school has also considered students' different needs and provided flexible courses, such as distance registration and distance education, for students to accomplish their studies by self-study and handing in assignments. The measures are also for national students and Chinese students to learn at ease to avoid their studies being affected by the epidemic prevention policies.

Cooperating with the "National Open University" to provide professional distance learning materials and perfect lesson plans, the NTUB will provide a more effective distance course registration to protect students from being affected by epidemic prevention measures. After the end of the epidemic in the future, the two universities will also make use of mutual resources to jointly offer more course options to benefit students. They will continue to make contributions to the national lifelong education's learning environment and make good use of resources in the future.
