The population of new residents and their children in Taoyuan City continues to grow. As new residents face employment challenges in Taiwan, including language barriers and access to job information, their children in junior and senior high schools must also prepare for future academic and career development. To address this, the Northern District New Resident Family Service Center in Taoyuan City organized a series of activities titled "Creating a 'New' Life, Enjoying a 'Slash' Career," aiming to provide economic support.
The activities included lectures where instructors shared their entrepreneurial experiences, and workshops where new residents and their children could participate in courses such as sewing, handmade soap, and metalworking. These activities were designed to introduce more career options and non-traditional employment models, further enhancing participants' understanding of career values and encouraging the development of diverse skills to generate economic income. The Department of Women and Children Affairs pointed out that these activities not only help participants better understand their career planning but also promote the stable development of new resident families in Taiwan.

Ah Yuan, originally from Mainland China, shared after the event that the instructor's entrepreneurial experience was deeply inspiring and that she learned many practical skills through the activities, especially gaining more insight into non-traditional employment. She expressed her gratitude to the Northern District New Resident Family Service Center, stating that the event not only allowed her to understand the diverse employment characteristics but also made her feel the government's care and support for new residents.
According to statistics from the Department of Women and Children Affairs, as of the end of August this year, the number of new residents in Taoyuan City has reached 68,268, ranking second nationwide. To assist new residents in adapting to local life, the city government and related units continue to provide various support services, including life adaptation courses and interpretation services. These efforts are aimed at creating a friendly and respectful multicultural society, helping new resident families move towards a stable and happy life.
