According to the TAIWAN TODAY, a total of 10 police drones and 400 eco-friendly blankets were donated by Taiwan to Lithuania Oct. 27, underscoring the government’s commitment to helping the Baltic country address the growing influx of illegal migrants, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As part of the Taiwan’s trade and investment tour of three EU member states led by the National Development Council Minister Kung Ming-hsin, a donation ceremony was staged in the capital city of Vilnius, the MOFA said.

Taiwan enjoys strong support for its participation in the international arena from Lithuania as well as two donations of a total of 260,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses from the Baltic country, the MOFA said. The reciprocal gestures are evidence of the virtuous circle defining exchanges between the two sides, the ministry added.

In a tweet on its official Twitter account, the MOFA said “NDC Minister Kung took a timeout in #Lithuania from #Taiwan's trade & investment tour of 3 #EU members to donate 10 police drones & 400 tech blankets. Great to have on hand border officers & 11 politicians like @togulb, @LRSeimas Deputy Speaker Mitalas & @MatasMaldeikis.” (DL-E)
