Taiwan , Diversity Calls It  Home, Migrant Day event opens on Dec 8th

     Migrant Day Event in Tainan is coming. Immigration Agency moves the event to Tainan this year. Alongside with the Tainan City Hall, “Taiwan, Diversity Calls It Home Migrant Day event is going to hold at Chimei Museum on Dec 8th. New residents, new generations, foreign workers and everyone in Taiwan are all welcome to join the event. The event aims at sharing the new resident’s culture and also thanking them for contributing to Taiwan.

     People can learn about the different culture by listening to the music, watching the dancing performance and tasting foods this year at the event. Besides, there are also many exhibitions about food and craftsmanship from their home countries. The official even designed a story exhibition as an appreciation for all the new resident. What’s even better is that the event will give out big prizes and limited special gifts.

     The United Nation International Migrant Day is annually held on Dec 18th.Taiwan marked this day as Migrant Day too since 2011. The number of the new resident in Taiwan is over 550 thousand people. If combining the number of the new generation and the foreign worker with the new resident, the number will come to one million. They are a very important part of Taiwan, regarding to economic growth and social stability. The official hopes to approve all kinds of regulations which is going to effect on the new resident and the foreign worker and   create a harmony environment for the new resident to blend in and see Taiwan as their second home.
