The number of international students studying in Taiwan has increased over the years. By living through the local life and participating in cultural events, foreigners can learn and experience the Taiwanese culture during their stay in Taiwan.
Recently, the Luer Community(鹿耳社區) conducted the 12th reenactment of Zheng Cheng Gong’s landing in Southern Taiwan (重回北汕尾鹿耳門-模仿鄭成功登陸). Hundreds of local students and even foreigners participated in the activity. Together they reenact the famous history scene of Zheng Cheng Gong landing in Taiwan.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education, the number of foreigners reached 57,920 in 2011. And in 2019, there were over 128,157 foreigners in Taiwan.
Eight foreigners participated in the reenactment activity. They were from the Philippines, Malaysia, Haiti, Eswatini and Guatemala, etc.
According to the Luer Community, hundreds of participants boarded on warships and entered Taiwan through the Xikou River, waving flags in their hands.
History reenactment is an important window for people to look at the past. A foreigner from Guatemala mentioned that he feels happy to join such a meaningful event.
