Immigration Agency Taipei Service team held a family education session to instruct things about medical issues and resident visa regulations for the new resident who just arrived in Taiwan. Most importantly, they introduced the” Global News for New Immigrants” website which is set up for the new resident. Also, Zhang Li Ying, a former flight attendant who is from Myanmar shared about her story of being a new resident in Taiwan, taking care of her babies and volunteering at her kid’s school.
Zhang strongly recommends the Facebook page and the website of “Global News for New Immigrants”. She finds a lot of information regarding medical, medical care, laws, scholarships and events. Taiwan is being nice to the new resident, always making sure the new resident won’t miss any information.
Zhang has come to Taiwan for nine years. She was a Mann Yadanarpon Airlines flight attendant after graduated from University of Yangon. She left her hometown to Taiwan for her husband. At first, she couldn’t read Chinese, so she went studying in elementary school and started learning Zhuyin. Now, she finished her high school degree. She also shared that one thing she can’t live without is being a volunteer. The reason why she started being a volunteer is that her son cried every time at the beginning of the school, hoping that she can come to his school. Therefore, she found a way to accompany her son, and also helping others by being a volunteer at her son’s own school. Since then, she had been volunteered for Ji Sui Elementary School and Yingge High School, and still volunteering for New Taipei City Library as a storyteller now.
Another new resident from Mainland China, Lan Lan, also recommends the Global News for New Immigrants websites. She learned about the education at the community college, so she signs up for learning painting and has a great accomplishment in her life.
Director of the Taipei service team, Su Hui Wen indicated that they held this family education session for the purpose of caring those new incoming residents. Last but not least, she stated that it is strongly recommended to follow more news and information on the “Global News for New Immigrants” website.
